Sony Xperia R1 - Overview
The Sony Xperia R1 features a 5.2-inch HD LED touchscreen display with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels. It is powered by an octa-core Cortex A53 processor that is clocked at a speed of 1.4GHz. The devices is aided by a 2GB of RAM for lag-free multitasking and Adreno 505 GPU for graphical requirements. The device offers 16GB of internal storage that can further be expanded up to 128GB with the help of a microSD card.
In terms of optics, the Sony Xperia R1 sports a 13MP camera sensor on the rear that comes with Hybrid autofocus, LED flash, HDR mode and much more. There is also an 8MP camera sensor on the front for capturing selfies and video calling. On connectivity front, there are 4G, VoLTE, Wi-Fi, GPS with A-GPS, Bluetooth 4.2 and USB Type-C support and much more. The Sony Xperia R1 draws its juice from a 2620mAh battery that provides decent backup.
The Sony Xperia R1 gets tough competition from the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4, Moto G5 Plus and the ZTE Blade A2 Plus in terms of price and specifications.

Battery backup is not good and only 2GB of RAM.
The Bottom Line
The Sony Xperia R1 is a nice device that comes from a trusted manufacturer. The phone comes in same old design as previous other Xperia smartphones and supports fast upload and browsing through Uplink Data Compression (UDC) and Android 8.0 Oreo update is soon to be released by the OEM soon. The camera is a decent one and display is good and the cheapest Xperia phone in market today.
