Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Leaked Hands-On Image Shows 18:9 Display And No Physical Home Button

A hands-on image of Xiaomi’s much-rumoured and much-leaked Redmi Note 5 smartphone has surfaced online. Concept Leaks posted an image of the alleged Redmi Note 5 showing the full front panel of the smartphone. The device seems to house an 18:9 display with no side bezels with very thin chin and forehead. The image shows white coloured phone and if earlier rumours are to be believed to launch anytime soon.

Recently, Manu Kumar Jain, MD, Xiaomi India, tweeted a teaser image suggesting launch of another smartphone in India very soon. Speculations have it that it is most probably be Redmi Note 5 as the placeholders of the device has already been spotted on two websites.

Coming to the leaked image, the image suggests that the device is expected to skip the physical home button which indicates that the fingerprint scanner will be placed at the back of the phone just below the camera setup.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 is expected to feature a 5.99-inch FHD+ FullView display with the screen resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels and an aspect ratio of 18:9. It is speculated to be powered by Qualcomm’s octa-core Snapdragon 636 processor. The phone will be made available in three variants similar to its predecessor – 3GB RAM and 32GB storage, 4GB RAM and 32GB storage and 4GB RAM and 64GB storage.

In terms of optics, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 is said to sport a dual camera setup on the rear with 16MP and 5MP camera sensors. There is also expected to don a 12MP sensor on the front.

The Chinese technology giant has reduced the price of its fastest selling Redmi Note 4 smartphone which is taken as a hint of the launch of its successor. the Redmi Note 5 is expected to come at a price lower than that of the Redmi Note 4 at the time of its launch.
