Xiaomi has now started accepting payments via Google Tez on Mi.com as well as Mi Store app. This will allow users to the make digital or cashless payments directly while shopping on Mi.com and Mi Store mobile app.

Xiaomi India Managing Director and Vice President Manu Kumar Jain took it to Twitter to make the announcement. The tweet read, “Mi fans! Happy to announce that Mi.com now accepts payments via @TezbyGoogle @Google! Mi.com is now the 4th largest e-commerce platform in India. I’m sure you’ll have an easier time shopping on the #1MiFanSale with this new payment option.”.

The Google Tez is NPCI’s UPI-based online payments mobile app by the search giant. The app is available for both iOS and Android devices. The app offers a chat-based UI which requires users to login with their gmail account and also enter their phone number.

Meanwhile, the chinese giant is currently hosting No.1 Mi Fan Sale on Mi.com in India from December 20 to December 21. The company is offering Mi Mix 2, Redmi Note 4 and Redmi 4 smartphones along with other products from its portfolio at hefty discounts. Customers will be able to make payments using Google Tez while shopping during the sale as well. The company is also offering Re 1 sale under which customers have an opportunity to get Redmi 5A, Redmi Y1 Lite, Wi-Fi repeater 2 and a lot more accessories for Re 1.
