The Xiaomi has announced that it will be launching a new smartphone in India on November 2. And when everybody is talking about the device, the company has revealed that it will be launching a stable version of its MIUI 9 operating system in India on the exact same day.

A recent post by MIUI India on Twitter revealed that stable version of the new operating system. MIUI 9 will be launched alongside the smartphone. The tweet read, “We listened to your requests. Global MIUI 9 is coming to India on November 2. Are you excited?”

The eligible Mi and Redmi smartphones sold in India will be getting the update. Notably, the latest version of the new custom UI was announced in August alongside the Xiaomi Mi 5X. Since then a few beta custom MIUI 9 Beta ROM have been released revealing some key changes in the new UI. These include new design, lockscreen shortcuts, faster app load time, split screen feature and more.

The company also released a teaser image suggesting that it will be launching a selfie-centric smartphone in India on November 2. Xiaomi recently tweeted, “I am not a Note”, revealing that the device will not be from the MI Note series as it was earlier speculated and also not from the Redmi Note series. A whole new series is expected to be launched by the Chinese tech giant for the selfie-obsessed users in India.

Xiaomi will be bringing something new from what is assumed with the teasers released so far. Earlier, the company had launched a smartphone, Mi A1 in collaboration with Google. The device runs of Android One to provide the stock Android experience to the users without implementing its custom to it.

Xiaomi recently claimed that since its entry into the Indian market it has shipped more than 25 million smartphones in around three years.
