Highlights

  • The Mi Max 3 is expected to carry an aspect ratio of 18:9
  • The smartphone may retain the location of selfie camera and sensor from the Mi Max 2
  • The 3.5mm audio jack might get removed from the Mi Max 3

As already known, Xiaomi will be replacing its phablet the Mi Max 2, which was released last year with the Mi Max 3. The new renders leaked online have many things to unveil with respect to the handset the Mi Max 3. This time two images have surfaced online highlighting the top and the front view of the device. According to some recent reports, the Mi Max 3 will house a full-screen design with an elongated display of an aspect ratio 18:9. Hence, one may expect that the dimensions of the Mi Max 3 will be similar to its phablet predecessor.

It is speculated that the larger screen could be the result of reducing the upper and lower bezels of the smartphone Mi Max 3. Still, this cannot be said with certainty, as the images leaked do not showcase the bezels and from the angle of the snaps, it is really difficult to deduce that the handset features reduced bezels. Nonetheless, one can infer that the location of the fingerprint sensor, front camera and earpiece would remain same as the Xiaomi Mi Max 2.

Interestingly, the 3.5mm audio jack is nowhere to be seen on the top edge of the Mi Max 3 as it was in the Mi Max 2, while the IR blaster is present in the images similar to the Mi Max 2. This means that either the 3.5mm audio jack gets placed at the bottom edge of the device or is permanently removed from the handset. Therefore, users may expect the USB-C port for connecting earphones in the Mi Max 3.
