If everything goes right, Xiaomi will soon see a new member entering their fast growing range of smartphones in India. Last week, a source suggested that Xiaomi MI A1 will be the Chinese handset maker’s first Android One smartphone. First, the device was seen on POSTEL, an Indonesian certification website, which revealed that it will possibly be a Xiaomi MI 5X minus MIUI casing.
In India, Xiaomi MI 5X is all set to be unveiled on September 5, 2017. The new challenger in the mid bezel-less smartphone market will directly lock horns with LG’s recently launched Q6 smartphone. Of late, with all buzz around, Xiaomi MI A1, Android One smartphone is expected to come with a full-screen display feature, as per Weibo, a Chinese micro-blogging website. As MI A1 is supposed to be based on MI 5X, there are all chances that MI A1 smartphone will flaunt a bezel-less 5.5-inch FHD display.
In addition to full-screen display and bezel-less design, the impending Xiaomi Android One smartphone is also said to use an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC as well. The camera element will comprise of a dual rear camera setup as seen in the MI 5X. Though Xiaomi’s earlier bezel less device was MI Mix, however, it was not made available across the globe as it was manufactured in limited numbers.
In the POSTEL certification, the model number of Xiaomi MI A1 was notified as ‘MDG2’, moreover, the RF certification page of the smartphone too confirmed the same model number, which indicates the fact that it is the Android One smartphone undercover.

Although it is likely that Xiaomi MI A1 will be an Android One smartphone, still there is no concrete assurance that it will be launched with Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box. In the coming days, the picture will be more clear regarding specs and availability of the so-called Xiaomi MI A1.
