With 5 million units of Redmi note 4 sold in the first half of 2017 and now claiming to have sold 4 million smartphones within a month, Xiaomi has had a tremendous year when it comes to the number of sales it has made in India. Manu Kumar Jain, VP, Xiaomi and Managing Director Xiaomi India took it to Twitter to announce the news.

Xiaomi India tweeted that is sold more than 4 million devices and was the number one smartphone brand during the respective Flipkart Big Billion Day and Amazon Great Indian Festive Sales. The company also claims to have sold more than 1 million devices from its own Mi.com. Notably, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer conducted its own ‘Diwali with Mi’ sale twice in a period of one month on the company’s online store which was initially announced at the end of September and during Diwali.
Previously, the company had announced that it managed to sell more than 5 million units of Redmi Note 4 within 6 months of the launch of the phone. The Redmi Note 4 was the best selling smartphone during respective Flipkart and Amazon sales and that it had sold more than 2 million smartphones during sales on both sites this September. Moreover, the company also claimed that eight of nine smartphones with smartphone category on Amazon India were Xiaomi products.
Xiaomi also announced that it shipped around 10 million smartphones across all the countries it operates in just last month. Earlier, it announced that it has sold more than 25 million smartphones in India in roughly three years since it entered in India. The company plans to overdo Huawei in terms of shipping devices in China by 2020.
