WhatsApp will reportedly to introduce a feature we have been waiting for since very long in the upcoming update. WhatsApp will soon be rolling out the Picture-in-Picture mode to WhatsApp Web and is also reported to let the users reply privately to message in a group.
According to WABetaInfo, a popular source which tests beta versions on WhatsApp, it will be bringing the Picture-in-Picture mode to WhatsApp web through a new update. The new update will also reportedly add an option to let privately reply to a message they received in a group. Recently, the popular internet-based messaging app was found to include a ‘Restricted Groups’ settings to help the group administrators group members from sending text messages, videos, photographs, GIFs, documents or voice messages.
The new features will be introduced in the 0.2.7315 version of the app, beta version of which has been submitted to WABetaInfo. The update will come with two new features. The first one being Picture-in-Picture mode that will allow users to watch videos in a separate pop-up window. The pop-up window will come with controls such as play/pause, volume control and timeline slider. The feature works similar to the Picture-in-Picture mode available on the mobile version of the app.
There will also be a new feature, ‘Reply privately’ that will allow users to reply to one member of the group privately. As per screenshot image provided by WABetaInfo, the new update will be made available alongside the existing button which includes ‘Forward message’ and ‘Reply’ options. The option will quote the group message alongside your private message. The update will soon come to stable version for Android and iOS soon.
