Facebook-owned WhatsApp has released its new beta version for Android. The new WhatsApp Android beta comes with version number v2.18.4 and helps users in switching between video and voice calls. Now, users may switch to any other mode of call without wasting time. For instance, if a user is having a video call and in between a voice call is received, then the user doesn’t have to end the video call. The user only needs to click the touch button that will let them connect to the voice call. If the recipient of the voice call declines the offer, then the call disconnects and the user may resume the video chat.
Currently, this feature is unavailable for iOS users and the Android user with the beta for Android version can register this WhatsApp programme through the Google Play. Interestingly, this feature was first seen by WABetaInfo. It is important for users to know that WABetaInfo keeps a check on any alterations that take place in any popular chat app. This feature is not available for those who haven’t signed up for the beta for the Android version of WhatsApp. It is disheartening that still, the WhatsApp calls are available only for one-on-one conversations and not for group chats.
Although, last month WABetaInfo reported that WhatsApp beta version has mistakenly rolled out the ‘Reply Privately’ feature, which can enable the users to send a private message in any group, later it was found that the developers were unable to enable this feature properly. Now, only time will show how much this feature is appreciated by the users. Nonetheless, it is a good development in the world’s one of the most loved messaging apps.
