Vivo is not ready to give up in this smartphone race in Indian Market. It has lowered the price of V5, which was released in April at Rs. 18,990. This is not the first revision of the price from the Chinese company in India. The first time it lowered the price in July and listed the smartphone at Rs. 17,990.
According to the market analysts, this is a step taken in order to enhance the sales. As it is already known that the Indian smartphone market has been reigned by Xiaomi and Oppo. With Xiaomi’s incessant introduction of new and low price devices, it was indispensable for the Dongguan smartphone manufacturer to take this decision. Moreover, on December, 10th even Mi A1 price got lowered by Xiaomi to Rs. 13,999.
Undoubtedly, this official price cut has improved the V5 competitiveness in the market as its features are quite compelling in comparison to its cost. Whether it is the connectivity or the camera, all are good enough with respect to its cost. The Vivo V5 support for Band 40, its Bluetooth, USB OTG, Wifi or FM, all is best suited for Indian users in terms of connectivity. The 20-megapixel sensor camera on the front is definitely an attribute that could lure any Selfie lover with its front flash. Even the rear camera sensor is paired with dual-LED flash making it the first choice among the mid-range smartphones.
The other striking features of Vivo V5 include 4GB of RAM and 64GB internal memory with an expandable 256GB storage via MicroSD card. The 3000 mAh non-removable battery and a 5.5-inch HD display also make it a tempting option for the users. In fact, even when V5 was rolled out, the reviews were quite favourable as it was supported by 1.5 GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6750 processor and ran on FunTouch OS 3.0, which is based on top of Android v6.0 Marshmallow. Let’s see how much this crucial step will help Vivo to swing the pendulum in favour of V5.
