The bezel-less display has become a necessity these days. Almost all the smartphone manufacturers are following the trend. There was only one major smartphone brand, Sony that has not launched any bezel-less phone yet and has been continuing with the OmniBalance design which it started implementing in 2013. The Sony is now in news that it will be unveiling a bezel-less smartphone early next year.
The news comes from a report by GizmoChina that claims that a Gregorian website has shared render the of two Sony smartphones. Both the upcoming flagship smartphones from Sony will be launched early next year. The renders are said to be based on the designed drafts by the company.
One of the two phones comes with less rounded corners and features a two-tone design at the back. The upper and the bottom of the phone the comes with matte finish. There is a dual camera setup with two large sized camera sensors at the top back panel that is separated by LED flash. The remaining portion of the back panel is glossy. On the front there is a bezel-less display and also shows dual front-facing speakers.
The image also showcases a 5.5-inch display with 4K resolution. Similar to all the upcoming smartphones from other giants, the phone is also expected to be powered by a Snapdragon 845 SoC. The phone is expected to offer 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. Since Sony launched its recent flagship smartphone with Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box, the upcoming phones are also expected to run on Android Oreo out of the box. The fingerprint sensor is expected to be an under-screen one and could be an upgraded version of the existing Xperia XZ Premium.
The rendered image of the other smartphone shows different design with rounded corners and a metal glass back panel. The device also seems to come feature a bezel-less full-screen display. The dual rear camera setup is seem lying on the rear panel along with LED flash on the side and a fingerprint sensor below camera sensor. There are no further information regarding specifications of the device.
The phones are expected to be launched during the MWC 2018.
