Samsung’s much rumoured mid-range flagship devices with the Infinity Display, the Galaxy A8 (2018) and A8 Plus (2018) are now official. The South Korean giant usually launched Galaxy A series smartphone after Galaxy S and Galaxy Note series. It is surprising to see that Samsung has extended the Infinity Display to Galaxy A8 (2018) and Galaxy A8 Plus (2018) smartphones. The phones have now been made official in South Korean market.

The biggest highlight of both the phones is that the front camera is now 16MP + 8MP and both come with an aperture of f/1.9 allowing users to take portrait shots as well. There is also the Live Focus feature that lets you adjust the bokeh effect before and after capturing the selfie.
Both the phones features Infinity Display with an aspect ratio of 18:9. Samsung has continued with the curved glass design in the Galaxy A series. The phones come with curved glass design on the back and front and it has a metal frame on sides. The phone has been launched in four colours – black, orchid grey, gold and blue.
Moreover, the display is Always-on one. Both the phones have Near Field Communication (NFC) and Magnetic Secure Transmission (MST). Due to the NFC support, the phones come with Samsung Pay as well. The phones are IP68 dust and water resistant and the fingerprint has been placed below the camera module. There is a 256GB microSD card slot as well and they are the first phones in A series to come with Samsung Gear VR headsets.

The former features a 5.6-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display with a screen resolution of 2220 x 1080 pixels and 18:9 aspect ratio. The latter features a 6-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display with a screen resolution of 2220 x 1080 pixels. The processor is an octa-core one and RAM on the smaller variant is 4GB and in larger variant is 4GB/6GB.
