No matter what anyone states, flip phones have always flaunted a distinctive style statement. Taking it out of your pocket and flip over just brings about, well, a ‘mafia’ quotient. Not looking at this mafia factor (though) Samsung has introduced a new flip phone the SM-G9298 flip phone in China which features two 4.2-inch full HD Super AMOLED displays. The flip phone packs in 4GB of RAM, a quad-core Snapdragon 821 processor with two cores clocked at 2.15GHz and the others clocked at 1.6GHz. The built-in storage is 64GB which can be further expandable using a microSD card up to 256GB.
In terms of camera, the Samsung SM-G9298 features a 12 megapixel rear camera with a f/1.7 aperture and a 5 megapixel front camera with a f/1.9 aperture for those above average selfies. Connectivity options on the flip phone includes Bluetooth v4.1, USB 2.0, micro-USB, NFC, Wi-fi a/b/n/ac and GPS. The battery offered in the SM-G9298 is a 2,300mAh one which is claimed to offer a standby time of 68 hours.
The sensors available in the Samsung SM-G9298 include a barometer, an accelerometer, gyroscope and a fingerprint sensor. It measures 130.2X62.6X15.9 mm and weighs 235 grams. While the Korean phone developer hasn’t announced the price tag officially for the flip phone it will be sold in China through China Mobile, a service provider in the respective country. Should it come to India? The popularity of flip phones during the likes of the Moto Razr V3 was a rage and the introduction of such a phone in India could still garner good sales figures for Samsung.
