Redmi series has been doing wonders for the Chinese brand. The overwhelming response to both of its sub-brands – Mi and Redmi – has certainly created a stir in the market with many big names revisiting their strategy for the Indian market. Redmi sub-brand manufactures an affordable range of smartphones while Mi is more towards catering to people looking for mid-range and premium handsets.
Recently, the company claimed to have sold 5 million units of Redmi Note 4 in India in a period of six months. A successor to this device, Redmi Note 5 has been spotted in leaked images, as reported by 91mobiles.
In its fifth generation, Redmi has announced the launch of the Redmi Note 5A as the first phone to be introduced to this generation. A few days back, leaked images of the Redmi 5 Plus surfaced on the internet depicting an early launch of the smartphone. Now, to make things more interesting we have got hold of some renders of the Note 5 based on the early leaks.
We expect the new Redmi Note 5’s design to remain identical to the present Note 4. The screen is likely to be a 5.5-inch one with a metallic body around it. As per the rendering image, the capacitive buttons will also retain their respective positions as seen in the Note 4. An 18:9 full-screen aspect ratio is not expected to make way for the upcoming phone.
Barring the USB Type-C switch, the Note 5 is expected to retain all the physical traits of its predecessor – button placements, speaker grille and SIM tray. The Note 5 is likely to follow the suit of the previous Redmi smartphones and that’s being launched with a MediaTek processor, Helio P25 first and then later getting a Snapdragon 660. With respect to trim levels, it is expected the Redmi Note 5 will be getting two of them with 3GB of RAM having 32GB storage space and 4GB of RAM with 64GB of storage space.
