OnePlus Released Beta Version Of New Migration App, Actual Release To Take Place In Mid January

The devices made by OnePlus have a lot of features that make the users want to stick to them including its features, but the company has given them another reason for that. They have developed an app that lets them migrate data from their old phone to their new phone. This native migration tool allows them to transfer apps, calendars, contacts, messages, photos, and videos. It is compatible with devices running Android 5.0 Lollipop or above. However, this app only works on company’s devices.

What makes the app different from the other migration apps is that this app enables a connection with a QR code that you need to scan from your old device to transfer its data to your new device. Once paired, the app allows you to choose what type of data you would like to transfer. You can pick from the list that includes contacts, call logs, messages, photos, apps, documents, and videos among others.

However, the one thing that should be noted is that even though you can transfer apps, the OnePlus Switch doesn’t move app data to the new device from Chinese smartphone manufacturer. This means that you need to manually restore your progress from old apps.

But there’s always a solution that comes along. Apparently, Google came up with an advanced solution through the auto backup feature. For Android 6.0 and later devices, Google not just transfers the apps but also transfers the data within it from the old device to the new one. Added to that, people who use Pixel devices have the added benefit of a default auto backup feature that enables migration of call logs, contacts, media, and SMS.
