Recently, Gionee made it clear that it will be embracing 16W wireless charging for M7 Plus, but this doesn’t seem to influence OnePlus. That is why OnePlus 5T is not going to have a wireless charging. As per the claims made by the company, its dash charge is more competent in comparison to wireless charging due to its limitations. Hence, the Shenzhen based Chinese smartphone manufacturer has made it crystal clear that it will stick with Dash charge.
Although the wireless charging has now been adopted by Apple with the iPhone 7, iPhone 8 and iPhone X, still OnePlus is satisfied with its dash charge. OnePlus 5T, which will be released on November 16 is all set to accompany dash charge. The date has been officially announced and this flagship device from OnePlus is declared to go on sale on November 21.
The OnePlus 5T is to feature 3.5 mm headphone jack other than the dash charge. Earlier, it was speculated that OnePlus will be replacing the headphone jack with a USB-C port in order to slim the device, but now the plan has been discarded. The CEO of the OnePlus, Pete Lau has confirmed this in a recent blog post explaining the benefits of the headphone jack. According to the company CEO, the headphone jack gives more freedom to users and the company doesn’t want to curb the freedom of the users.
Similarly, the company has also rejected the plan of embracing wireless charging as the current technology involved in wireless charging is not that efficient as the dash charge, which provides the OnePlus device enough backup for a day just after half an hour of charging. Comparatively, in a wireless charging, the users will not have the convenience to pick up the device from the charging pad, when subjected to charging.

15 days agoAgain, this will be crippling the freedom of the user. This doesn’t mean that the company is not going to try the wireless charging forever. The CEO has made it clear that in future, OnePlus may implement wireless charging “when the time is right.” Interestingly, the company is not ready to come up with both the charging simultaneously, thereby opening two options for the users instead of discarding wireless charging as Gionee is doing for M7 Plus smartphone.
As of now, the OnePlus 5T is all set to get rolled out in the Indian market on November 16 and the sale will start on November 21. The prices are rumored to be the same as the OnePlus 5 released in the UK, which means £479. The unveiling will be done in the event that could be attended by anyone just by purchasing the tickets. The smartphone will be available on Amazon India. Wait for a week and the result will be out, whether the users will embrace or reject the OnePlus 5T.
