HMD Global owned Nokia is ready to dominate the smartphone market again as it completed the first flash sale of Nokia 7 in China. The smartphone received over 1,50,000 registrations in minutes. The sale took place on China’s domestic e-commerce websites JD.com and Suning on Tuesday.
The Nokia 7 was launched in China on October 20 and the pre-registration for the device started just after the official launch. It has been reported that more than 1,20,000 registrations have been made for the device on JD.com while Suning receiving over 30,000 registrations. A separate report claimed that Nokia 7 flash sale ended within minutes as the smartphone went out of stock on both the websites. However, the total number of devices sold during the sale has yet not been specified.
The Nokia 7 features a 5.2-inch IPS display with a screen resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels. The display is protected with a 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The smartphone is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 630 SoC and clocked at 1.8GHz. The smartphone comes in two RAM variants – 4GB variant which is priced at CNY 2,499 (roughly Rs 25,000) and 6GB variant which is priced at CNY 2,699 (roughly Rs 26,500). The device offers an expandable storage of 64GB that can be expanded up to 128GB with the help of microSD card slot.

29 days agoIn terms of optics, the Nokia 7 comes with a 16MP camera sensor on the rear with an aperture of f/1.8. There is also a 5MP front selfie shooter. The device has a Dual-Sight mode, popularly known as “Bothie” that captures shots from the front and rear camera sensors simultaneously, similar to the the flagship device from the company. The device runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat and is backed by a 3000mAh battery.
The HMD Global is all set launch another Nokia handset in India on October 31. It is speculated that the new offering could either be Nokia 7 or budget smartphone, Nokia 2.
