Apart from flagship smartphone, Nokia 9, the HMD Global is also expected to launch an entry-level smartphone at the beginning of 2018. Reports have it that Nokia might introduce an Android One smartphone which is rumoured to be Nokia 1.
A report from GizmoChina reveals that this entry-level phone will also be a part of Google’s Android Go program and will be made available from the first half of 2018. The phone is expected to make its way to Russia first in March 2018 at a price of RUB 5,999 (roughly Rs 6,500). We can expect the phone to launch in India as well as the Android Go was made keeping in mind countries like India.
Nokia 1 Specifications
The Nokia 1 is rumoured to feature an HD IPS LCD display and will come with 1GB of RAM and 8GB on expandable internal storage. Rumoured to be an Android One device it will run on stock Android OS and will also support the Android Go project alongside.
The device can reportedly be powered by either Qualcomm or MediaTek processor as both have announced the support for Android Go project. We do not have any more information about the Nokia 1 as of now. We can expect more information about this device in near future and we can also expect many Android Go devices in 2018.

Entry-level smartphones play a major role in an OEM’s performance in a price sensitive market like India. Nokia 1 is currently facing tough competition with Xiaomi’s Redmi 5A that offers 2GB of RAM and a comparatively lesser price.
