LG is all set to alter its G series naming, just like Apple. This is not an unprecedented step from the South Korean multinational electronics company. Back in 2013 “Optimus was removed and made way for LG G2. Therefore, one can expect this buzz in the smartphone world to be true because as of now nothing has been stated officially by LG on this piece of news. Last year Apple changed its naming with Apple X from Apple 8 or Apple 8 Plus. Even Samsung has done it in the past, so one can certainly expect this repackaging of LG flagship G series very soon with the launch of its new flagship smartphone in 2018.
This news has been reported by The Investor and according to this LG could give a fresh naming to G series devices “with a two-digit number”. This means that the LG G7 could be named as something like LG G70. If the South Korean company thinks of dropping G, then it could be named something like LG 70. Interestingly, an LG official gave this information to a South Korean technology news publication named Digital Daily.
Only with the unveiling of the LG latest flagship device in the Mobile World Congress 2018 event in Barcelona, users will be able to learn the truth of this rumour. Right now all eyes must be set to the LG’s upcoming flagship smartphone, which is expected to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor and it is also expected that the launch will be planned after the unravelling of Samsung Galaxy S9. As of now users can swallow this piece of information with a pinch of salt.
