After the announcement by Reliance at the Annual General Meeting (AGM), a number of potential buyers are waiting with bated breath for 24th August. This is the date when Reliance’s telecom arm, Jio would be introducing their first phone. However, according to a few offline retailers in the NCR region, you can pre-book your Jio phone.
In order to do that, you will have to carry a copy of your Aadhar card basis which you can pre-book the phone. This Aadhar card number is then uploaded on to a central server which will keep a track of your pre-booking. In case, you are intending to buy a more than one Jio phones, you will need more than one Aadhar card. Since, only one device is allowed per Aadhar card.

Reliance has been on the top of the mobile service provider game for some time now, courtesy its extremely aggressive data plans and services. It has given the gunghos in the telecom industry like Airtel and Vodafone a solid run for their customers. And like the previous services from Jio which were initially free, the Jio Phone handset is free. However, customers would have pay an upfront security deposit of Rs 1,500. This fee is refundable after 36 months and the phone, despite being a basic unit, offered up to 4G connectivity.
