According to a leak reported by a French phone carrier in Bloomberg, Apple has planned to launch the iPhone 8 in an event to be held on 12th of September. Going back to the past, the first iPhone was launched in 2007 that gave an entirely new meaning to the smartphone world. Ever since then Apple has maintained its lineup. However, this time it seems that Tim Cook is planning a change in strategy.

Rumors have it that this year Apple is planning to celebrate its 10th Anniversary by launching iPhone 8 along with the iPhone7s and iPhone 7s plus altogether.In addition to that, Apple might also launch the most awaited 4K Set-top box.

This special edition device is expected to come with a 5.8” OLED display. What this indicates is that the iPhone 8 will feature a larger display than the 7s and 7s plus. However, to fit the larger screen Apple might have to get rid of the home button. According to some recent predictions, there will be a small bump at the top of the phone to house the facial recognition sensor.

The iPhone 8 could be the costliest smartphone available till date and is expected to cost around USD 1000.

Apple’s 4K TV Set-top box:

According to a report from Bloomberg, the set top box will be integrated with 4K video streaming and live streaming capabilities. It will also support HDR videos.
