At a time when many smartphone companies are trying new things such as Oppo and Samsung foldable smartphones, there HTC is working on another front. Definitely, HTC knows that more than cameras and full screen, the users want high speed data and what can be better than 5G. Perhaps, that is why recently at a 5G industry event in Taiwan, the Taiwanese company HTC rolled out its most awaited HTC U12 device according to some reports. Furthermore, Evan Blass of evleaks via Twitter, informed that the codenamed HTC Imagine is none other than the smartphone HTC U12.
Interestingly, all these information flooded after the Twitter user iamaniff stated that, “HTC today (1/29) participated in the inaugural meeting of ‘Taiwan 5G Industry Alliance – Chunghwa Telecom Pilot Team,’ featuring Vive PRO, Vive Focus, unlisted VR devices from Taiwan and HTC phones that have not been released to the public,” alongside the images of HTC phones and their internet speed test results. In response to this Blass posted on his twitter account @evleaks that this “lightly obfuscated handset on display at a 5G industry event is none other than HTC Imagine, aka ‘U12.’”
HTC has accepted that the device, which was showcased in the event is its flagship smartphone and as we already know that HTC U12 is the flagship device from HTC for 2018. Hence, the riddle becomes clear that this HTC Imagine is the same HC U12. Therefore, if the reports are to be believed then the handset is accompanied with the download speeds of 809.58 Mbps, which is approximately 1Gbps. Moreover, it is also speculated that the device carries under the hood, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor supported by X20 LTE modem, which is capable of delivering up to 1.2Gbps download speeds.
