At last, HMD Global has acquired the Nokia Asha brand via the EU Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO). Although, no information has been provided officially by the HMD Global or the EUIPO. Nonetheless, the users may expect that the Asha brand name will be used by the Finnish company for the smartphones that do not carry the features of the phones that belonged earlier to Asha brand.
According to the official site of EUIPO, the trademark application was filed in October 2011. The Nokia-focused blog LoveNokia highlights that the trademark will help the company to build those computer software platforms that can be used both in mobile telephones and smartphones as well as the wireless communication services.
