Google has finally come up with official images of September Android security update. The September Android security update is now only available for with Google Nexus and Pixel devices. It is necessary to download this new security update as it can fix the serious BlueBorne Bluetooth attack.
BlueBorne is a Bluetooth based attack, which has impacted billions of electronic devices, which are featured with Bluetooth. It attack have been faced by every platform including Android, Linux, Windows and earlier iOS 10 devices. According to the research BlueBorne does not require any action to attack the device, it is invisible to the users and it gets spread from one device to another automatically.
The IoT security firm Armis labs first recognized the BlueBorne earlier this week. As per reports, it has infected more than 5.3 billion devices; all it just need is Bluetooth to be turned on.
This update from Google will surely be a big relief for all those users whose devices have been infected. The September security patch will be available for Pixel, Pixel XL, Pixel C, Nexus 9, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P and Nexus 6.
If the user hasn’t got OTA – Google’s latest OTA update, the user can download the OTA zip available from the Google’s developer site in order to install it manually. In case the user wants to use the factory images as update then they need an unlocked device and should be ready to reset the device. While in the scenario of OTA zip file there is no need to rest the device and to take the backup of the important file it will directly get installed automatically.

While devices currently running on iOS 9.3.5 have possibilities to get attacked by this BlueBorne. But fortunately, Apple has already come up with the cure of this attack with iOS 10. The Microsoft has also released an update to fix this bug and to keep their devices safe for getting affected by this attack.
We are hoping that other Android mobile manufacturers take this malware seriously and soon lunch their security update for their smartphone. Let’s see if this security upgrade is capable to fix the attack of BlueBorne and how much it will be helpful.
