A new and very exciting “Delete For Everyone” feature released by WhatsApp gave a sigh of relieved us of the embarrassment of sending some message to the wrong person. But, a recent post by Spanish Android Blogger claims that messages deleted by the sender can still be read by the recipient. The report reveals that the deleted message will be present in the notification log of the recipient’s smartphone. It can be done just by entering the notification history to check the message that has been deleted by the sender using “Delete For Everyone”.
The report suggests that anyone can read the deleted message sent to them on WhatsApp using any third-party app. There are few apps in the Google Play Store that can do so, one such app is Notification History. Once you install, you will have to search for the message in the Android notification log.
The process can get easier if you are using a third-party launcher, one of the most popular launchers is Nova Launcher. If you are using Nova Launcher you can open the notification log from Widgets – Activities – Settings – Notification Log. Stock Android also provides widgets for the notification log access.

9 days agoAs “Delete For Everyone” has its limitations, the process of checking deleted messages also comes with a catch. First and foremost, the process of reading deleted WhatsApp message is applicable only on Android devices and not iOS devices. If you are iOS users, there is no way you can read deleted WhatsApp messages. The deleted messages will be stored in the notification log access only until the device is restarted. The notification clears one you restart your device. Moreover, only first 100 characters of the deleted messages will be visible instead of the entire message. Also, the notification log feature is available only for devices running on Android 7.0 Nougat and above operating systems.
