The Taiwanese tech giant has unveiled its ZenFone Zoom S smartphone in India on Thursday. The company said that the ZenFone Zoom S is dedicated to photography enthusiasts and has been priced at Rs 26,999. The smartphone, which is said to be the Indian version of Asus ZenFone Zoom 3, is now available for purchase exclusively on Flipkart. The Asus ZenFone Zoom S is offered in two colour options, Navy Black and Glacier Silver.
The standout feature of the ZenFone Zoom S is a 12MP SONY IMX362 sensor along with f/1.7 aperture, 25mm wide-angle lens coupled with another 12MP, 59mm zoom sensor with an instant 2.3x true optical zoom and 12x of total zoom. Would you need a professional camera then? Maybe not! The Asus ZenFone Zoom S also has SuperPixel technology which is primed to capture everyday scenes with utmost clarity, especially in low-light situations.
Switching between smartphone’s dual camera is claimed to be very fast and the combination offers an all-new-depth -of-field effect, which makes you capture portraits like a pro. The device also features both Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS) and Electronic Image Stabilisation (EIS) to capture crisp photos and shoot videos in 4K.
The Asus ZenFone Zoom S packs a 13MP SONY IMX214 front sensor for high-resolution selfies coupled with an f/2.0 aperture lens. The Asus SuperPixel Engine is said to enhance the light sensitivity up to 2 times. This front camera also comes with a screen flash mode which uses the display as flash while capturing selfies in low light conditions. The phone also allows the user to shoot photos and videos in manual mode.
Another highlight of the Asus ZenFone Zoom S is its battery which is a massive capacity of 5,000mAh. It is claimed to deliver 6.4 hours of continuous 4K UltraHD video recording and a standby time of 42 days. The ZenFone Zoom S can be used as a power bank to charge other devices. The device has a 4GB RAM and an internal storage of 64GB that can be expanded up to 256GB via hybrid SIM slot. The device also packs Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC processor and boasts a 5-magnet speaker that is boosted by an NXP Smart AMP, which delivers clear and crisp sound, even when playing at loud volume levels.
The Asus ZenFone Zoom S runs Android Marshmallow with Asus ZenUI out-of-the-box and is expected to receive the Android Nougat update soon. The ZenFone Zoom S has a full metal body and a 5.5-inch FHD display with a screen resolution of 1920×1080 at 424ppi density. The screen is protected with a Corning Gorilla Glass 5, which is said to be 70 per cent more drop resistant than previous Gorilla Glass generations.
The ZenFone Zoom S is the only phone that has SonicMaster and High-Res Audio Certification ensuring High-Res audio everywhere you go with phone’s studio grade 24-bit/192kHz playback that is 4x better than CD quality.
