Apple is reportedly coming up with a successor of the iPhone SE in early 2018, according to China’s Economic Daily News. The model is reportedly called the iPhone SE 2 and will be launched in the second half of 2018 with a price starting from $450 (roughly Rs 29,000).
The new smaller phone from Apple, iPhone SE 2 will reportedly be manufactured by Wistron, Taiwanese original design manufacturer (ODM) at its Bengaluru factory that currently produces the existing iPhone SE.
The speculated launch date of the upcoming iPhone SE 2 comes in line with the launch of original iPhone SE which made the first appearance in the month of last year. The phone is reportedly in the initial stages of production at Wistron facility in Bengaluru. Apple has been able to maintain the affordability of the iPhone SE in the country.
The existing iPhone SE features a 4-inch screen, which is smaller than that of iPhone 6 and iPhone 8. It is priced at $349 which is $200 cheaper than the next affordable iPhone model. The company is expected to keep the price tag of the iPhone SE 2 will be around $450 (roughly Rs 29,000). The iPhone SE 2 come with similar display as on the iPhone SE and will be powered by a more powerful processor. It is expected to run on iOS 11 and is expected to be marketed as a new “Made in India” iPhone by the company.

The iPhone SE 2 is most probably be powered by the Apple’s A10 Fusion Chipset coupled with 2GB of RAM. The phone will come in two memory variants including 32GB and 128GB. It is also rumoured to don a 12-megapixel rear camera sensor and a 5-megapixel camera sensor on the front. The device is most likely to be powered by a 1700mAh battery.
