Apple Announces International Warranty For iPhone X

Apple has announced that it will provide international warranty on iPhones. The news comes a day before the first all-screen smartphone from the Cupertino-based giant went on sale today at 12:31 pm in 55 countries. Users who purchase the iPhones from outside India including the US will be able to avail Apple’s international warranty even it they do not happen to have Apple Care. Good News! Isn’t It? But there is a catch, the offer is limited to only factory-unlocked iPhones and not carrier-locked iPhones.

Several other products from the giant already come with an international warranty including Macbooks, but it is for the first time that the iPhones will be coming with such an offer. This means you can buy an iPhone from wherever you are the without worrying about its servicing in India.

The iPhone X went for pre-orders in India starting today and will cost an eye-watering price of Rs 89,000 for 64GB memory variant. The iPhone X is available at a rather cheaper rate in the US at $999 which is approximately Rs 65,000. Similarly, iPhone 8 and 8 Plus are also comparatively cheaper in the US as compared to India. With this scenario, the news of Apple providing international warranty on iPhones can be sigh of relief for those who want to own the device but had taken a step back due to price of the smartphone.
