Motorola has finally joined the Android Oreo update with a recent update rollout for the Moto X4 smartphone. A Twitter user gave the information that the update is available to download. Companies like Nokia and OnePlus have already rolled out the update for their devices and now Motorola has joined the club. The update brings various tweaks along with the latest December Android security patch.
The update comes with a build number OPW27.2 and should be available as an over the air (OTA). However, there is no official information about the rollout by the company.
The update brings up some changes including app optimisation, notification channels, better battery, notification dots and the Google Play Protect and picture-in-picture support.
The Moto X4 is a mid-range offering from Motorola that comes in a metal and glass design, dual rear camera setup, near stock Android experience and decent specifications. The phone is offered in two memory variants – 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage and 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage – priced at Rs 20,999 and Rs 22,999 respectively.
It is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 630 SoC clocked at 2.2GHz paired with 3/4GB of RAM and Adreno 508 GPU. The phone comes with 3000mAh battery that supports TurboCharge feature. There is a dual camera setup on the rear with a 12MP sensor with f/2.0 aperture and an 8MP sensor with f/2.2 aperture. There is also a 16MP sensor on the front with an aperture of f/2.0 and a dedicated LED flash.
